“QSL cards are amateur radio enthusiast's 'calling cards' . Radio 'Hams' scan international radio frequencies and when a connection is made both parties post a card detailing their frequency and unique details to confirm the point of contact.
The cards became quite decorative in order to express something of the style or individuality of the sender.
The Close Encounter pieces express how in the stillness of the atmosphere, there has always been the ‘silent noise’ of communication: A chaos within the quiet!”
